OnePlus drops the “Pro” from its flagship line, 11 Pro becomes 11

According to two independent and reliable insiders, OnePlus plans to drop the “Pro” from its next flagship series. This in turn means that the company’s next top-shelf phone will be called the OnePlus 11.

If the information turns out to be true, it would be assumed that OnePlus is also looking at the option of streamlining its flagship series as a whole. The main flagship series will have no more than two models in the first half of the year with a possible “T” update in the second half. It hasn’t been like this since 2018 and the OnePlus 6.

While the trend of the past couple of years dictates that companies should deliver at least a couple of flagship variants to attract a larger user base, OnePlus seems to be taking a step back in this regard. Which might not be such a bad thing: since the OnePlus 8 series, vanilla options have been largely neglected and seem to exist only to increase sales for professionals.
