Guide to the MS Gong Ride

In November 2022, the MS Gong Ride will celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Since 1981, this iconic ride has inspired an incredible community of participants, supporters, donors and volunteers who together help fight multiple sclerosis.

It’s Australia’s most respected community bike ride. For 40 years, tens of thousands of cyclists have hit the pavement on this legendary ride in support of people living with multiple sclerosis.

As the name suggests, this trip starts in Sydney and ends in Wollongong. It starts in Tempe, an Inner West suburb of Sydney located 9km south of central Sydney and ends at Thomas Dalton Park in Fairy Meadow, Wollongong.

There are two distances to suit riders of different levels. The full 81km route is from Tempe Recreation Reserve, and the shorter 54km route is from Preston Park to Engadine.

This year our pilots will experience the journey of their lives.

They’ll start by pedaling through the stunning natural backdrop of the Royal National Park, enjoying incredible ocean views from the Stanwell Tops, riding across the stunning Sea Cliff Bridge, before crossing the finish line in Wollongong with a backdrop of surf, sun and sand.

All while pledging to ensure more than 25,000 Australians are supported in their journey to fight MS.
