Just when we thought actor and wrestling legend John Cena had done it all, the American superstar has managed to add another achievement to his list.
Cena, who is known as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, has surpassed himself after breaking the world record for granting the most wishes through the Make-A-Wish foundation.
The Australian non-profit organization helps grant the wishes of children aged two to 18 who have been diagnosed with a critical illness.
Most wishes include the chance to meet a celebrity, go to an event, or give your wish to someone else.
What makes the WWE legend so special is the fact that he has won the title of the most requested celebrity, having granted 650 child visits in his lifetime.
Guinness World Records has declared this to be the most wishes anyone has granted in the four decades of the foundation’s existence, with no one ever exceeding 200 wishes.
The 16-time world champion granted his first wish in 2002, before granting the foundation’s 1,000th wish to a fan named Cardon a decade later.
Cena told Reuters when he granted his 500th wish that he’s always willing to “drop everything” to help bring joy to a child in need.
“If I can provide a great experience, I’ll be first in line to do my part,” he said.
For those wondering what it’s like to meet a legend like Cena, the Make-A-Wish Foundation said kids usually get a chance to take a photo with the wrestling icon before spending some one-on-one time with him. .
At other times, the kids have had the chance to venture inside the ring with Cena, while others have the chance to wear one of his championship belts.
Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Samuel L. Jackson are among some of the other celebrities known to have granted multiple wishes.
