Wordle 388 July 12: Wordle word suggestions and today’s answer

Wordle has taken the world by storm, and if you haven’t given in to playing the daily game, we can guarantee you saw the squared squares on social media.

The game uses the same rules as Scrabble, where only real words are allowed in both conjecture and result.

If you get a letter in the right place and form the correct word, the square turns green.

But if the guessed letter is in the word but not in the correct place, the square turns yellow.

Letters that are wrong turn gray to aid in the process of eliminating all six attempts.

Wordle New York Times

The game was created by software engineer Josh Wardle, who sold the popular word game to the New York Times after it became a global sensation.

In a statement on Twitter, he wrote: “Since the release of Wordle, I have been amazed at the response from everyone who has played.

“The game has gotten bigger than I ever imagined (which I guess isn’t a big feat given that I made the game for an audience of one).

“It has been amazing to see how the party brings so much joy to so many people and I am so grateful for the personal stories some of you have shared with me, from Wordle uniting distant family members to provoking friendly rivalries and supporting to medical recoveries.

“On the other hand, I would be lying if I said that this has not been overwhelming.”
