CANTON, Ohio – The first restarted USFL champion will soon be crowned as the Birmingham Stallions favorites face the Philadelphia Stars in Sunday’s title game here from the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
The best team in the USFL during the regular season, the Stallions reached the championship game with a win over the New Orleans Breakers in last week’s semifinals. The Stars, who have gone 5-1 since their loss in Week 5 to the Stallions, scored their ticket by upsetting the New Jersey Generals in the other semifinal.
Fans can watch two of the league’s best quarterbacks at Birmingham’s J’Mar Smith and Philadelphia’s Case Cookus, as these teams finished No. 1 (Stars) and No. 2 (Stallions) in scoring. Sunday’s title game will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET on Fox (play on fuboTV, try it for free).
