Elden Ring multiplayer Colosseum explained: what is it?

The Colosseum in Elden Ring update adds a brand new multiplayer mode to the game for free for everyone.

The development team has opened the Coliseums of Caelid, Leyndell and Limgrave to everyone for some delicious PvP action. Inside the coliseums, you can participate in one-on-one duels, free-for-alls, and team fights with up to six players.

We imagine some intense battles are being fought and some bragging rights are being earned after the update. What better way to prove, once and for all, that you are the best in the Elden Ring among your friends than to defeat them in a duel?

Elden Ring Patch Notes: What’s new in today’s update?

The full list of patch notes has been confirmed by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco. Headlining the list is that the Coliseums of Caelid, Leyndell and Limgrave have been opened up for online multiplayer PvP action.

According to the official website, each scenario comes with its own set of rules, worth noting. In Limgrave, for example, players can participate in United Combat (timed team battles with the ability to respawn, team deathmatch style) and Combat Ordeal (free-for-all).

In Leyndell, the Royal Coliseum, you’ll find Duel mode, the game’s one-on-one multiplayer. There are no respawns here. Meanwhile, inside the Caelid Colosseum, you can participate in all three multiplayer modes with the added bonus of being able to summon Spirit Ashes. You can fight anyone online, and you’ll need to use group passwords to play against (or team up with) friends.
