The RCMP says officers shot at La Ronge and searched for 2 gunmen

The RCMP says officers were attacked Sunday in La Ronge, Sask., And the Mountties have urged residents to take refuge in their place until the two suspects are found.

Officers are responding to the incident in the city about 600 miles north of Regina, and residents should expect more police presence in the area, the Mounties said in a press release.

Police are urging residents to seek immediate or shelter in their place until instructed otherwise. They are also encouraging people to close and close all windows and doors.

Motorists are advised not to stop for hitchhikers, and the RCMP has called for people to refrain from disclosing police locations on social media.

In a press release, police described a suspect as a man with short, dark hair with shaved sides, dark pants and a dark shirt with gold patterns on his sleeves and dark runners.

He was last seen walking in the Far Reserve Road area in the village of Air Ronge, and there was a possible sighting of the suspect heading north on Highway 2, the RCMP said.

The RCMP said they did not have a description of the second suspect. However, they said, the suspect is believed to be in the “house 136” of Far Reserve Road on Air Ronge.
