Afridi bowls Hales

Pakistan are back in the game now. A spectacular swinger from Afridi clips the leg pad of Hales before sinking to mid on.

This fires up the previously deflated Pakistani crowd and after an over, England are 1-7.

Semi-final star Hales has to go for one and Salt is the new batsman.

For the fourth time in this tournament, Afridi takes a wicket in his first over.

Buttler starts England’s innings in fine style by hitting Afridi at mid-wicket for three.

Sam Curran caps off a fine tournament with the ball with 3-12 in the final. Pakistan is unrivaled for its crafty variations and intelligence.

Curran combined with Adil Rashid to take 5-34 from eight overs – 25 runs between them.

England chasing 138 for victory

Pakistan end at 8-137 after their 20 overs and England are favorites to win the Twenty20 World Cup 2022.

Curran (3-12) and Rashid (2-22) starred for England, while Jordan (2-27) also chipped in with a couple of wickets.

For Pakistan, Shan (38), Babar (32) and Shadab (20) started but failed to score big, and their players have a big task to defend 138.

Rare border for Pakistan

Afridi drives Jordan over Buttler’s head for Pakistan’s first boundary in more than four overs.

They move to 8-136 with a ball remaining.

Pakistan’s capitulation continues

Wasim nails Jordan but there’s not enough power and Livingstone takes his third catch at mid-wicket – what a night the field is having.

Pakistan are now 8-131 after 19.3 overs, will fall well short of a competitive total after losing 4-10.

Jordan becomes the third all-rounder with 2-22 from 3.3 overs.

Curran takes a third scalp

Curran strikes again.

Nawaz tries to bowl a leg-side yorker to the boundary but hits it straight to Livingstone at mid-wicket and Curran now has figures of 3-10 from 3.3 overs – what a star he is.

Pakistan have slumped to 7-129 after 18.3 overs and have now lost 3-8 in 12 balls.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is the new batsman and England are in the post seat.

Brook drops Wasim

It almost goes from bad to worse for Pakistan, but Brook drops a strong chance after Wasim cuts Jordan hard.

Adding insult to injury for Brook, his wayward delivery to the bowler’s end costs his team another couple of overs.

Shadab follows Shan to the dugout

Shadab gets it wrong and crosses to Jordan straight to mid on where Woakes takes the easy catch.

Pakistan are in deep trouble now at 6-123 after 17.2 overs.

Shadab departs for 20 off 14 balls, and quickly follows his sixth-wicket partner Shan back into the dugout.

Jordan is 1-18 from 2.2 overs.

Pakistan’s tail has been exposed and they now have two fresh batsmen at the crease in Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz at the wrong end of the innings.
