Sarah Jessica Parker shared the heartbreaking news that her beloved stepfather, Paul Giffin Forste, has passed away. He was 76 years old.
“Our family is saddened to announce that after an unexpected and quick illness, Paul Giffin Forste passed away yesterday at the age of 76,” he said. Sex and the city the star’s family said in a statement obtained by Page Six.
“In his final moments he was surrounded by the love and gratitude of his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara, and his children, including Sarah Jessica Parker.”
The statement continued: “Paul will be remembered for the spirit of loving kindness that was his faith, his special delight in his 13 grandchildren and his sustained belief in making the world a more charitable, tolerant and beautiful place for all”.
Page Six exclusively reported yesterday that Parker, 57, abruptly left the New York City Ballet’s 10th annual Fall Fashion Gala due to a personal matter.
In a strangely dramatic moment, it was announced from the stage that he had to pull out of the event due to a “sudden devastating family situation”.
A source first told the network that the First Wives Club The actress left the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York moments after arriving at the fundraiser, where she was being honored.
Parker is the Vice Chair of the NYCB Board of Directors. He also masterminded the fall fashion gala, which was held for the first time a decade ago.
Parker’s family tragedy comes just one day after she attended the Hocus Pocus 2 debuts with her husband, Mathew Broderick, and their 13-year-old twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha. Parker and Broderick welcomed their daughter via surrogate in 2009, seven years after the birth of their son, James, now 19.
The couple’s three children are often kept out of the spotlight in an attempt to give them privacy.
Broderick and Parker first met in 1991 during their theater days before marrying two years later.
