Rylan Clark has revealed he was rushed to hospital twice after his “heart stopped” last year.
The TV personality, 33, admitted she went through a terrible experience during her split from husband Dan Neal, 43.
Speaking at the launch of her new book Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, she said: “I didn’t just get sick mentally, I got sick physically.”

Following the breakdown of his six-year marriage, the TV favorite took five months out of the limelight due to his deteriorating health.
He previously claimed he had dropped to just nine stone, leading to him being hospitalized for “safety reasons” after refusing to eat.
He told the audience at London’s Royal Festival Hall: “Last year I ended up in the back of an ambulance twice because my heart failed.”

After the hospital, he was given an injection that helped his heart beat more regularly again.
Saying: “I just remember the shot going in, and all of a sudden this feeling from the center of your body, both ways, it almost grabs you, and you stop and my heart just stopped.”
“There’s just seven faces and this bright light just looking at me. And then I took a breath. And they said, ‘It’s in a normal rhythm.’
“I said, ‘What the hell is going on?’

He went on to say that family members were convinced he was just suffering from heartbreak, but he was sure it was more serious.
‘I knew it wasn’t right. It turned out that my heart needed to be reset. I remember putting on resus and it had all these pads with all these wires and I didn’t understand what it was.’
He continued: “Only afterwards I said, ‘What were the pads for?’ And they said, ‘If you hadn’t caught your breath… because we would have had to electrically restart you.’
They needed doctors: He went on to say that family members were convinced he was suffering from heartbreak, but he was sure it was more serious.
“You don’t even think about it when you’re there. So I didn’t just get sick mentally, I got sick physically.”
It comes after Rylan revealed his body was “off” and his mother Linda was convinced he was suffering a stroke during his health problems.
The presenter admitted he couldn’t even speak and had ‘slurred his speech’ as he walked away from work.
Now, appearing on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, the TV personality said: “My body completely shut down. I wouldn’t eat. I went through a stage where I couldn’t even talk, which for some people could be quite useful.

“My speech was just slurred. My mom thought I was having a stroke. My body just went. I went down in the 9th and I’m six-foot-four.’
An avid Eurovision fan, he has been a semi-final commentator since 2018, but his notable absence during the 2021 contest raised red flags among friends.
Rylan continued: “Two days before Eurovision, everyone knew when I wasn’t at Eurovision something was wrong.
“If I had, maybe I wouldn’t have gone into such a rapid decline. And when I say rapid decline, it felt like a few minutes. I felt like it hit me and I was shutting down.
The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who claims she hasn’t stopped working since her stint on The X Factor in 2012, confessed she “needed” a break.
He said: “It was tough, but on reflection, yes, I had to stop. It was maybe a 10-year meltdown. I haven’t stopped since the day I went on The X Factor.
‘Nothing stopped. I don’t regret stopping. I think if I try to continue, maybe I could have handled things better from a personal point of view. I don’t regret stopping.’
