Several iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max owners have taken to Reddit with complaints that their new high-end phone had developed a tendency to display screen flickering or momentary green or yellow lines upon waking or booting up. Now, a blog is claiming to be part of new communications on the subject, and is now looking to reassure those users that these issues can be fixed with a simple software update.

The iPhone 14 Pro series is distinguished from its Vanilla 14 siblings not only by its increased price, but by its Dynamic Island screens. However, it now appears that some who paid for this type of Apple’s inaugural display have encountered unexpected bugs and flaws in their everyday use.

A number of Redditors who own these higher-end Series 14 variants (most of whom appear to have the more premium Pro Max) have reported that they can see transient green or yellow lines on their units’ screens when they go to unlock or they start their super expensive iPhones.

These bug report posts, some of which are corroborated with attached images, have led to speculation that they may be hardware defects, fueled by claims that they have an element of panel lottery, as all the affected displays come from LG and reports that some involved users had successfully pursued replacement requests.

However, according to a new “note seen by MacRumors“, Apple is”conscious” of those complaints, and believes that it is indeed one that can be addressed with a software-based solution that “will be coming soon.” This has led to speculation that it could be on the way in the form of an incoming iOS 16.2. . 1 update.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they gave rise to some experience in the field of biotechnology, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, the environment and our lives in general. Over time, this turned into an interest that devoured more aspects of technology – I can never write enough about the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy and all things broadcasting. Oh, and coffee.
