OnePlus held a big event in China today where we saw the announcement of the OnePlus 11, but that wasn’t the only new hardware at the event. We also have the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones that bring improved noise cancellation, Dolby Atmos spatial audio and sound tuning by Dynaudio.
The Buds Pro 2 are the successors to last year’s Buds Pro and offer the same basic design with a two-tone finish on the buds and a matte charging case. The buds reuse the same 11mm dynamic drivers and the same 6mm planar diaphragm drivers. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.3 and their ANC should drown out up to 48dB of outside noise. There are three microphones in each earcup for optimal voice pickup and noise cancellation.
Buds Pro 2 supports AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs at launch, while support for the LHDC 5.0 audio codec for high-resolution audio streaming over Bluetooth is coming with a future software update. There’s a 54ms low latency mode for gaming and some nice features for ColorOS 11 devices like posture monitoring and cervical spine pressure. The new Oppo and OnePlus devices will also support dual connectivity and easy switching between devices.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2
OnePlus claims the Buds Pro 2 can last up to 39 hours in its charging case with ANC turned off. The case can be charged wirelessly via any Qi charger or wired via USB-C.
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 come in black and green colors and retail for CNY 899 ($130) in China. Open sales there begin on January 9, while international pricing and availability details will be revealed on February 7.
