Olivia Pratt-Korbel: Suspected murderer Thomas Cashman appears in court

A man accused of murdering Olivia Pratt-Korbel appeared in court yesterday and confronted the nine-year-old’s family for the first time.

Thomas Cashman, 34, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court after his case was referred from magistrates’ court in the morning. He has now been remanded in custody.

Cashman is alleged to have killed the schoolboy, who was shot in the chest when convicted burglar Joseph Nee was chased down the hall of his home in Dovecot, Liverpool, by a gunman on August 22.

Cashman, of West Derby, is also charged with the attempted murders of Olivia’s mother Cheryl Korbel, 46, who was shot in the wrist, and Nee, 35.
