Nothing phone (1) users will have to wait longer for Android 13! The update could be implemented in 2023

Google’s Android 13 is all about improved security features and more customization for users. The tech giant released its latest operating system earlier this month with a detailed list of eligible devices. Unfortunately, for those with the new Nothing phone (1), it looks like the wait may be longer.

According to a recent report, the UK-based smartphone company has announced that it will roll out the Android 13 update to its first smartphone sometime in the first half of 2023.

Res has claimed that the delay is because the company needs to make some adjustments to the software experience before rolling it out to smartphones. Since the launch of the Nothing (1) phone, the brand has been rolling out several updates, but these have mostly been related to improving the overall user experience.

The development came to light after Android Authority, a leading tech portal announced the delay in one of its reports. “We are always working hard to improve the user experience of Phone 1. As for Android 13, it will be released for Nothing Phone 1 users in the first half of 2023. Before we release it, we want to fine-tune the software update with Nothing hardware. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more information,” said nothing per Android Authority.

Phone res (1) users will receive software updates towards the end of the year, but these will be developed primarily by the company. The brand recently released the Nothing OS version 1.1.3 update which includes a bunch of features including camera improvements and performance optimizations. No smartphone has three years of Android updates and four years of security updates.
