D.Va’s EDM skin is one of the best new skins in Overwatch 2. But where are all your skins from… [+] Overwatch 1?

Overwatch 2 launch issues are happening just over 36 hours after the game was released. Blizzard is working hard to fix the issues, but some players are still confused about where their Overwatch 1 cosmetics, progress, currency, and other items are.
MORE FROM FORBESTThe ‘Overwatch 2’ team has fixed some server issues, but you should still expect queues for nowBy Kris Holt
Many of those who can log in have found that some of the things they unlocked in the original game are not in their collection. In particular, the team that they had to have from other platforms after merging their accounts is missing.
You might be wondering, “are all my Overwatch skins gone?” Fortunately, Blizzard says the answer is a resounding “no.” (Winston players could be forgiven for saying “all my ape skins are gone”. Just this once.)
It turns out that the account merge process is taking longer than Blizzard expected. We plan to roll out a client-side (ie, PC and console) fix for the issue. However, he will not be able to do so until next week; he did not explain why. In the meantime, we hope to fix the problem on the server side.
This is why aspects are missing from player accounts in about half of reported cases. As for the other half, Blizzard says the issue is due to players not completing the account merge process. Be sure to do this if you have accounts on multiple platforms!
If you can, by all means. There are some issues within the game that may have made it difficult for people to do so. There was a bug that meant the launch version of Overwatch 2 didn’t show the account merge message on some consoles. Blizzard has released a fix for one aspect of this and is working on other UI issues.
I’ve also had issues with progress and cosmetics. My Battle Pass progress did not carry over from the review build, but this is being resolved. On my secondary account (yes, I still have one), I was asked to complete the account merging process. I did and Overwatch 2 prompted me to restart the game so I could access all the features.
When I finally logged back in, it said in the main menu that my account merge was still in the queue. I clicked on that and got the same message to restart the game to complete the merge. That was Tuesday night.
I just checked back on my computer and saw a message that said: “Your accounts are getting ready to migrate. You are currently 160,000 in the migration queue.” I don’t know how long it will be until it hits me. But that’s progress, at least!
No one, or at least no decent person, wanted all these release window issues to arise. It’s a crappy start to an exciting evolution of Overwatch. Blizzard is very much on the case, though. You should get your stuff back soon. But if something is still missing after disabling this client-side fix, it’s a good idea to file a support ticket.
