Draymond Green could face internal discipline after an altercation with Warriors teammate Jordan Poole at practice on Wednesday.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater cited sources with knowledge of the incident as reporting that there was a “heated interaction” in which Green “slammed hard” at Poole before the two had to be quickly separated .
The Warriors immediately halted practice after the incident, and internal discipline for Green could be imminent, according to The Athletic.
Wednesday is not the first time Green and Poole have been involved in an incident. In a November 10 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Green got into a verbal altercation with Poole on the Warriors’ bench before the two eventually ended it after the game.
Shortly after news of the incident broke Wednesday, KRON-TV’s Jason Dumas reported seeing Poole in an apparently good mood as he stood up and laughed with teammate Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Lester Quinones.
Two sources have confirmed to me the altercation between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole.
Saw Jordan Poole getting up shots today after practice. He seemed in good spirits, he was even laughing. PBJ and Lester Quinones were the only other guys on the court at the time I shot this. pic.twitter.com/FtxYo5XgH6

It remains to be seen what internal discipline will follow, but the situation certainly looks more serious than the “squabbles” Klay Thompson described after the initial Poole-Green incident last season.
