A man has died after being fatally stabbed during a brawl outside a popular nightclub in Melbourne’s CBD.
Emergency services were called to Bourke Street at around 5.45am on Sunday following reports of a serious assault.
Police said two men were found with stab wounds at the intersection of Flinders Lane and King St after a “large fight”.
The Herald Sun reports that blood could be seen wiped across a white sedan parked outside the Inflation nightclub on King St.
Paramedics treated the two men who had suffered stab wounds before taking them both to hospital in a critical condition.
One of the men, who has not yet been formally identified, later died in hospital.
The second man, aged 19, remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives from the Victorian Police Homicide Squad are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death following the alleged assault.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
A crime scene has been established as Bourke Street remains closed between Elizabeth Street and Queen Street.
