Marvel star Jeremy Renner is in intensive care with blunt force trauma to his chest and leg injuries after a snow plowing accident on Sunday.
The 51-year-old actor’s leg was run over by the snowcat he was using to plow snow from the driveway of his home in Reno.

Renner underwent his first surgery on Monday, after which he was conscious, stable and talking to family members.
He is expected to need further surgery to deal with “extensive” orthopedic injuries and faces a long road to a full recovery.
After the accident, a neighbor, who is a doctor, rushed to tourniquet Renner’s leg, which was bleeding profusely.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that it “responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada” at 9 a.m. local time Sunday morning.

He said Renner was alone at the time of the incident, which is being investigated.
The Avengers star had to be airlifted out of the area and taken to hospital.
In a statement released by his publicist, Renner’s family expressed their gratitude to the “amazing” doctors and nurses caring for him.
They also thanked the local fire and rescue unit, the sheriff’s office, the mayor of Reno County and neighbors who rushed to help the injured actor.

“They are also tremendously overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of love and support from their fans,” the statement said.
Renner’s plow, a German-made PistenBully, was towed away Sunday night, several hours after the accident.
The vehicle’s safety features failed, causing it to run over Renner’s leg, TMZ reported.
The area where the actor lives was hit by a winter storm on New Year’s Eve that dumped heavy snow and left 35,000 homes without power.
On December 13, Renner posted a tweet showing a car practically buried under a pile of snow.
“Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke,” she captioned the image.
