The clinic, in building 24 of London Health Sciences Centre’s Victoria Hospital, started seeing adults with cold, flu and respiratory symptoms on December 9 in an attempt to divert some patients from emergency rooms overwhelmed

The clinic is ramping up to see up to 125 patients a day with COVID, cold and flu symptoms, including fever, chills, shortness of breath, nasal congestion, muscle aches and sore throat. The program plans to include children in the near future.
Patients at the clinic receive a medical evaluation and guidance on next steps, including treatment options and ways to manage their symptoms.

Other patients may be tested for COVID or prescribed treatment, including the antiviral drug Paxlovid, if appropriate, for the virus.
People who do not have a family doctor, are at high risk of serious complications, feel their symptoms are getting worse or have been referred by a doctor or nurse are encouraged to book an appointment at the clinic, close to the roads of Commissioners and Western Counties.
LHSC launched a new ER wait time tracker on its website on Wednesday, which provides data on University, Victoria and Children’s Hospital emergency departments.
