Several onlookers watched an impressive aerial display in downtown Vancouver today as a helicopter hoisted a sign to the top of a tall building.
Some streets and sidewalks were closed Sunday (Nov. 13) so a helicopter could transport heavy signage to the top of the Canadian Western Bank (CWB) at its new headquarters near Georgia and Thurlow streets.
In total, the helicopter transported four pieces of large-scale LED signage for the company, which it carried from Coal Harbor to the top of the CWB building.
The largest of the four pieces weighs 6000 pounds and it took eight flights to transport the four loads. Each flight lasted between 10 and 15 minutes over a period of approximately three hours.
Check out some photos and videos of the display.
