England will face Germany in Sunday’s Euro 2022 final after two ruthless goals from Alexandra Popp saw the eight-time champions beat France 2-1 in Milton Keynes.

Germany will play England in the Euro 2022 final after a 2-1 win in France last night.
Two goals from Alexandra Popp, who is now level with England’s Beth Mead for the Golden Boot, saw the eight-time European champions book their place at Wembley.
Popp had given his side the lead in the first half before Kadidiatou Diani’s quick-fire equalizer drew France level before the break.
France had chances to take the lead after the break but failed to capitalize on them and were punished by a merciless Popp, who headed home the winner in the 76th minute.
Popp, Popp, who had scored in all previous games, broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when he volleyed home a cross from Svenja Huth.
It was the first time France had gone behind in the tournament, but it was only four minutes behind.
Diani stepped forward and let fly from the edge of the box. Her shot hit the post and bounced past German goalkeeper Merle Frohms and into the net.
France almost took the lead shortly after the hour mark with two quick chances. Clara Mateo found space for a shot in the box, but Kathrin Hendrich made a superb block before Wendie Renard had a header from the line from the resulting corner.
France were made to pay for those missed chances when the Huth-Popp combination struck again. Huth lifted a cross from the penalty spot and Popp headed home higher.
