Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin takes a drug test after being filmed dancing

Under scrutiny after videos of her dancing with a pop star went viral, Finland’s prime minister said she had taken a drug test.

Sanna Marin, 36, told a press conference that she expects the results of the screening to be published next week, the BBC reported. Finnish politicians had called for him to be drug tested after the video was leaked.

However, Marín has repeatedly said that he has never taken drugs.

“I didn’t do anything illegal,” he told reporters in Helsinki on Friday.

“Even in my teenage years, I have not consumed any kind of drugs,” said Marín. He explained that he was drug tested because of the controversy over the videos, but felt the outcry was unfair.

But reporters questioned Marin, who has been married and has been Finland’s prime minister since December 2019, asking if she could make major government decisions if something happened while she was partying.

“I don’t remember a single time that there was a sudden situation in the middle of the night to go to the Palace of the State Council,” he said.

“I think my ability to function was very good. There were no known meetings on the days I was partying.”

Marin said she knew she was being filmed while dancing, but didn’t realize the footage would become public.
