Australian banking customers are currently facing significant delays in sending and receiving money due to an industry-wide disruption to Osko’s payment processing system.
Payments from Osko to participating Australian banks are typically received within seconds, regardless of the time or day they are sent.

Reports first emerged around 7pm on Wednesday that the payments being sent were not being received at all.
“Sent money via PayID (Osko) almost two hours ago and it still hasn’t reached the other bank account,” commented one user on DownDetector, which monitors website outages.
“I sent money to myself with Osko two hours ago. It’s left one account but not in the other,” added another.
“My partner sent me $60 and just left? My payee list is also cleared and I can no longer use PayID as an option to pay anyone? What’s going on?” lamented a third.

Others took to social media to share how the outage was affecting them.
“Is there a reason my Osko payments haven’t hit the account I transferred to? Trying to call to get some answers but been on hold for a long time…” said one on Twitter.
Others criticized the service for the outage and asked for updates on the situation.
“How can all Osko payments go down? What if big payments need to be made and people are stuck with no money? Shameful,” said one frustrated Twitter user.
“It would be helpful if you all could provide updates letting people know that Osko is down, which appears to be the case. It will probably help prevent more distress for people over the next few hours,” added another.

Meanwhile, banks have begun responding to customers aggrieved overnight, with mixed advice.
RBA responds
The Reserve Bank of Australia revealed on Thursday morning that it had been hit by an “internal system engineering issue”.
“The RBA experienced an internal system engineering issue yesterday evening,” a spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.
“The topic has been contained. The affected external services are now operational but there has been some delay in processing payments overnight,” they said.
ANZ Bank
“We are currently experiencing an industry-wide disruption to NPP/Osko payment processing and some payments may be delayed,” says an alert on its banking app.
“Failed payments will need to be resubmitted when the refund appears in your account. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

According to DownDetector, 81 percent of problems reported on the ANZ Bank app on Thursday morning were due to problems with fund transfers.
Commonwealth Bank
“We are aware of an industry-wide issue that is delaying the processing of some payments between banks,” it said on its mobile banking app.
“Customers are advised not to retry transactions.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and want to reassure customers that we are working across the industry to resolve this issue as a matter of urgency.”
According to DownDetector, 83 percent of problems reported to the Commonwealth Bank app as of Thursday morning were due to problems with fund transfers.
ING Bank
“We’re sorry, there is a problem with instant payments at the moment in the banking network,” ING Bank said in a comment on its Facebook page.
“The issue is being investigated and as soon as we have an update we will let you know.
“In the meantime you can use your card to make purchases or access your funds.”
