To put it now, the Victorian government will go into interest mode from 6pm (AEDT) ahead of this month’s election.
It comes as Victoria’s deputy premier says she is not concerned about the number of voters who are still undecided. Recent polls have found 27% of voters undecided.

Jacinta Allan told the ABC’s RN Breakfast that Victorian Labor is focused on growing the economy, supporting teachers and nurses and building infrastructure projects.
“A lot of people keep their decision formal until they get closer to the day, so it’s probably not that surprising, and I’m sure we’ll see that number go down,” he said.
The Deputy Premier was also probed over Visit Victoria’s decision to sponsor Netball Australia despite the state’s $9.7 billion deficit.
“I think this is a fantastic investment,” he said.
ABC presenter Patricia Karvelas pushed the deputy premier on why the government decided to step in after Gina Rinehart pulled her $15 million Netball Australia sponsorship deal.
This was the Labor leader’s response:
The visitor economy is a huge part of the Victorian community and way of life and is a huge supporter of jobs. And diamonds are our global [netball] team, having them proudly bearing the Victorian logo and Victorian branding showcases Victoria to the world and in turn continues to support jobs in this really important part of our economy.
And regarding the question you asked regarding the [budget] figures that were released yesterday…we are on a strong path to return to surplus in three years’ time. We’ve had a huge job to do over the past few years ensuring that Victorian businesses and households are supported during the most difficult times of the pandemic.
