The death of the queen marks the end of the second Elizabethan era and the beginning of the second Carolingian age: the reign of King Charles III.
Charles III was officially proclaimed king in a historic ceremony at St James’s Palace on Saturday 10 September just before midday UK time.
The complete ceremony at the Palau de Sant Jaume lasted just over an hour.
It comes as Harry and Meghan continue to create drama, with Buckingham Palace staff revealing their fury at the Duchess of Sussex’s plans to visit Balmoral, where the Queen was seeing out her final hours.
Meanwhile, dozens of Australian leaders gathered in Canberra to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and Governor-General David Hurley gathered in Parliament to lay a wreath in honor of the Queen.
