‘Ten Hag brings out the best in me’ – new Man Utd winger Antony
Manchester United ended Arsenal’s winning start to the Premier League season in a thrilling encounter that saw Antony score on his debut and Marcus Rashford grab a quick-fire brace after Bukayo Saka had equalized in the second part
After a bright start from both teams, Arsenal thought they had struck first when Gabriel Martinelli finished off a devastating counter-attack, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for an earlier foul on Christian Eriksen.
Arsenal took control from there but the Gunners were dismantled by United on the break as Rashford set up Antony to beat Aaron Ramsdale for a debut goal following his £100m move euros from Ajax.
Arsenal responded after the break with chances from Martin Odegaard and Saka, before the England international grabbed a deserved equalizer on the hour mark. It looked as if Arsenal had the momentum but they were hit on the counter when Rashford raced over to restore their lead.
It was the final swing of a thrilling game and with Arsenal pushing forward with greater numbers, Rashford scored his second to seal United’s fourth straight win and end Arsenal’s unbeaten start.

More than Ten Hag in United win
The United boss added: “You can see Arsenal are more together, more routine, but our team spirit gets us the win.
“We can still do things better, with the pressure, we had a good plan, but the entry of Zinchenko, for example, this gives them an excessive number in midfield. We can be more composed with the ball, don’t give it away
“When we were beaten in the press we fought and recovered, especially in transitions we were good.”
Speaking specifically about Antony and Marcus Rashford, he said: “They both played really well, a constant threat, I know our offense is very strong – they are creative and they have speed.
“This is the first time they’ve played together and this performance is great to watch.”

Rashford reacts to Man Utd’s win over Arsenal
Marcus Rashford has given his reaction to Manchester United’s win over Arsenal. The England striker scored two goals and assisted the other for Antony.
He told Sky Sports: “It’s always a big game against Arsenal, especially as they’ve had a good start to the season. Today was a big test for us. We turned up and rose to the challenge. We can be proud if ourselves It’s good to get into a rhythm.
“It’s hard. They are a good team and they know their principles of play and they do it very well. A good possession-based team and offers plenty of difficulty with players dropping into pockets and attacking threats. It’s what we expected.
“I thought it was an even game. There were big spaces in the first half that we couldn’t take advantage of. We got it in the second half.
“We have excellent passers of the ball and while we make runs we are going to get the ball. We have to continue 90 minutes. There are a couple of times we’ve gone through the press today. It’s important for us to move forward.”

FT: Manchester United 3-1 Arsenal
Things feel a lot brighter for Manchester United now than they did just three weeks ago.
The opening day defeat to Brighton and the 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Brentford looked incredibly grim for Erik ten Hag.
But four wins since then, seven scored and two conceded, have reignited hope at the club.
