Savage Garden leader Darren Hayes has criticized Instagram for his shocking decision in one of his recent posts.
Darren Hayes has spoken on Instagram about what he called a “homophobic” decision to censor one of his posts.
In the art image, the Savage Garden leader is seen sitting on a bed while fully clothed in a suit, with a naked man lying on his stomach on top.
Hayes, 50, captioned the caption: “#HappyPrideMonth, #Homo and #Queer.”
In a shared post later, the singer claimed that the image had been removed by Instagram for violating its “sexual request” rules.
“The whole picture of this was just taken out for‘ soliciting sex ’lol,” Hayes wrote. “It’s me, fully clothed, with a naked male model lying in front of me with a censored ass. A lot of homophobia? It’s #pridemonth lol.
His followers quickly backed him up, calling the social media platform’s decision “ridiculous.”
“Well, I saw the whole thing before it was removed and it’s amazing,” one wrote.
“If it was a naked woman lying on a male, it wouldn’t have been a problem, for sure! We’re in 2022 for God’s sake, ridiculous,” said another.
“What ?! What century are we in exactly ?!” asked a user.
However, Instagram appears to have reset the photo following Hayes’ public complaint.
Earlier this month, the singer headlined with his really wild story about his upcoming encounters with Madonna.
