Police have arrested two men wanted on the Gold Coast, ending a 20-hour siege on the suburb of Nerang.
Police closed the area around 3pm yesterday, forcing many residents to sleep in their cars while the clash continued into the night.
Police negotiators and heavily armed specialist police surrounded a house where two men, a 25-year-old Tugun and a 32-year-old Labrador man, were believed to be armed.

The two men, who are wanted to return to prison orders, are believed to have known the homeowner.
“With a prison return order, they are activated when they fail to meet any conditions for their release from prison,” said Detective Inspector Chris Ahern.
“One of the people did have a bracelet and they had removed it in the last few days.
“Obviously, as we can see from today, they are not interested in contacting the police.”
The two men turned themselves in to police around 11 a.m. this morning and have been arrested.
Police confirmed the area is no longer on emergency alert and repealed the Public Safety Preservation Act.
9News understands that a woman, her sister, and her elderly mother were held hostage in a house for four hours by men before they were released.
Queensland police have maintained that no hostages have been involved in the incident so far.
Residents of Riverpark Drive, McLaren Road, Kopwhai Place and Inverness Street were subject to an exclusion order, which meant that those at home at the time could not leave and those outside could not return.
People were still being turned down at police checkpoints this morning, some told 9News that they were forced to spend a cold night sleeping in their cars.
A stranded resident said he left home to buy groceries and was unable to return home.
“I left home to go get some groceries to see the footy,” he said.
“They let me out and I couldn’t go back.”

“I have an 87-year-old mom at home with whom I wanted to get there, but hey, I guess you have to go with the flow,” another woman said.
A resident said he would probably be forced to return to work after sleeping in his vehicle.
“I’ll probably go back to work, without shaving, without showering, with yesterday’s clothes,” he said.
9News understands that men are being sought for questioning by the shooting of a police beating in Arundel earlier this week.
Two officers were inside the raid when the shooting occurred around 3:45 a.m. on June 6, but no one was injured.
Police said it is not yet clear if the men were involved in the two incidents.
Investigations continue.
