Two people have been killed and several others injured, including three police officers after a shooting in Texas on Saturday night, authorities said.
An alleged gunman killed two civilians and then himself at a Haltom City home near Fort Worth after a shootout with police, the Haltom City police department said.

Arriving at the scene, police said they found a civilian, a man, dead on the sidewalk of the house. A woman was found dead inside the residence, authorities said. Their identities were not revealed.

An elderly woman, the person who called police, was also found with a gunshot wound to the leg, WFAA-TV reported. He is expected to live.

Haltom City police later said the woman called 911 for the second time at 6:52 p.m., seven minutes after her initial call, when she said the shootings continued, Star-Telegram reported.
Police then found the alleged gunman and a shooting broke out, Alexander said.

Three officers were shot in the fight and taken to local hospitals. According to the report, each of the officers suffered injuries that did not endanger his life.
Officers eventually found the alleged gunman dead with what was believed to be a self-inflicted bullet wound, they said.

Authorities said the gunman was wearing a “battle belt” and was found with two weapons, including a “military-style rifle” and a handgun.

The identity of the gunman was not revealed.
It is not immediately clear if the alleged gunman had any connection to the victims.
Police closed the area until 10:30 p.m., and encouraged residents to avoid the area or stay at home.
“We don’t believe there is a threat to the public at this time,” Haltom City police said in their final update.
