The Crown is raw and cruel, says Dame Judi Dench

Dame Judi Dench, the Oscar winner who is one of the UK’s most decorated actresses, has accused The Crown of “crude sensationalism” and said the Netflix series about the royal family is “cruelly unfair”.

In a strong letter to The Times, he asked Netflix to insert a disclaimer at the start of the show to say it is a “fictional drama,” a move the streaming giant has resisted so far.
