Full time: Ajax 0-1 Arsenal (Agg 2-3)
Arsenal almost deserved the win tonight, with Miedema proving his asset on any flank. He had a brace and got a fine finish to send Arsenal through to the group stage.
90+4 minutes: Catley heads a cross behind for a corner which Arsenal clear.
The ball comes to Kardinaal 30 meters from goal, but his shot is awful – it goes high and wide.
90+2 minutes: Eidevall made a little whimper at Doorn for no reason. Get over it mate.
90 minutes: Doorn is booked for a foul on Mead. Mead is still down and looks in a lot of pain. Not sure if it will continue.
Hurt for Mead.
Six added minutes.

88 min: Meth and Doorn clash heads. Her Arsenal teammates come over to her and put her next to them. Both sets of medics are quickly activated. Arsenal are not happy with the matchup. Personally, I don’t think it was deliberate, but Doorn has caught Mead in the side of the face.
86 min: Arsenal try to walk in a second. Foord breaks into the box but is then forced back from inside the six-yard box. The balls come to Mead, but she takes her time and the opportunity is gone.
Tromp on, Grant out for Ajax.
84 min: Miedema is off and Maanum is on. Arsenal are looking to get more bodies in midfield.
82 mins: Not enough pace in Ajax’s attacks to threaten Arsenal’s defense at the moment. Everything is done at a snail’s pace.
80 mins: Ajax might have to diversify their ideas… starting with Van der Most replaced by Bakker.
78 mins: McCabe goes around at the back but his drilled cross is cleared.
75 min: McCabe heads the ball in the air inside the box but Pelova can’t get a decent touch and goes straight at the keeper.
73 min: HOW DOES IT NOT GO IN?!! Noordam plays the ball to Noordam who sends a good cross across the six yard line but Hoekstra clears it under pressure from Wubben-Moy.
71 min: Mead goes around the back and throws the ball towards Wienroither, who misses his shot. The ball finally reaches Foord on the edge of the box and she takes aim, only to see her effort blocked by a mixture of defender and goalkeeper.
69 mins: There’s a measured move from Ajax, the ball comes to Grant on the right and she crosses Wubben-Moy for a corner. It works short to Spitse who curls in a deeper cross under the crossbar but the keeper claims easily.
67 min: Zinsberger comes out of his area to take a long ball over the top, but only manages to throw it into the air. Luckily, Wienroither is waiting and can get away.
Blackstenius is replaced by Mead for Arsenal.
65 minutes: Hoekstra enters for Ajax. She replaces Weerden.
63 min: Weerden gets to the byline but McCabe steps up to block the cross and take a corner.
61 mins: Arsenal are trying to slow things down and are looking pretty well organized at the back since they got the opener.
59 min: Miedema comes into the box and aims at the far post, but Kop gets down well to deny his effort.
57 min: Walti tries to find Blackstenius on the edge of the box but McCabe gets in the way and tries to control the ball, only to see it bounce into the keeper’s arms.
55 mins: Wubben-Moy loves to break out of defense carrying the ball. It’s really helping Arsenal progress faster.
53 mins: Ajax will need to come out and force the issue here, something they have struggled to do so far. Can they upload it?
GOALS! Ajax – Arsenal 0-1 (total 2-3) (Miedema, 51)
This is the breakthrough Arsenal have been waiting for. Miedema collects the ball from Foord, drives into the box and fires a shot into the corner from 20 yards.

49 min: Wienroither cynically takes down Pelova near the halfway line, but the referee only awards a free-kick.
47 mins: Charles Antaki says: “The vibes aren’t good for Arsenal – very little going on up front, with Ajax threatening on the break – if they get the first goal, they’ll go even further and it’s probably curtains for this year’s Champions League. It’s time for Beth Mead…”
second half
Here we go again!
Reading in the middle of the day.
Middle: Ajax 0-0 Arsenal (Agg 2-2)
Everything is very even, but neither team has really troubled the opposing goalkeeper.
45 minutes: two added minutes.
44 mins: Arsenal certainly have more of the ball but are struggling to create much with it.
42 min: Ajax try to clear but Spitse hits the ball over Pelova’s head and lands at Miedema’s feet. The Dutch international takes aim, but her shot always goes up.
