The Poco F1 is a legend of smartphones: it carried a flagship chipset and capable hardware everywhere at a price of just € 300 after a small discount. Does the new Poco F4 embody the same spirit? Or is the Poco X4 GT a better successor? Let’s take a closer look.
We will start with the Little X4 GT. It brings the exciting new Dimensity 8100 chip set and costs € 300 for an 8/128 GB drive with early discounts applied. This price will be valid from Monday (June 27) to July 7, then will rise to € 380. The 8/256 GB drive is € 350 with the discount, € 430 without it.

What makes the Dimensity chip so exciting? We’ve only tried a couple of phones with it so far and they’re not common (at least not outside of China). But from what we’ve seen so far, the chip set is faster than the Snapdragon 870 (in multi-core CPU testing and especially GPU testing) and can withstand even the Snapdragon 888. That’s great for a high-end chip average.
The X4 GT is equipped with a 144 Hz display, a 6.6-inch LCD screen, a 5,080 mAh fast charging battery (67 W, 0-100% in 46 minutes) and even recovers the socket. 3.5 mm headphones. Some of you might want to have an AMOLED screen or also have a microSD slot. Also, the 64 + 8 + 2MP camera is nothing special, but there is only so much that we can ask for a € 300 phone.

The Realme GT Neo 3 is one of the Dimensity 8100 phones we tested. The version with load of 80 W starts at 600 €, the one of 150 W to 700 €. This is with 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB memory, respectively, but it is still twice the cost of the Poco. Anyway, the GT Neo 3 has an AMOLED display (120 Hz), a better camera (50MP 1 / 1.56 “sensor in the main camera with OIS) and a faster charge (even the 80 version W makes 0-100% in 32 minutes.) To be fair to Realme, he also had an early discount of € 50.
The other phone powered by 8100 is the OnePlus 10R. This is not yet available in Europe and Poco has not announced plans to bring the X4 GT to India at this time. But the 10R is very similar to the GT Neo 3, so the same considerations apply.
The Motorola Moto G200 5G can be found for between € 300 and € 400 and has a larger 6.8-inch LCD screen at 144 Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ and includes a 108 MP (1 / 1.52 “) main camera. The 5,000 mAh battery only charges at 33 W, so it will be slower.

Moving on to the Small F4. This comes more than a year later than F3, but it looks more like a mid-season update. Really, what has changed? Poco upgraded the main camera to a 64MP 1/2 “sensor (from 48MP 1/2”) and added OIS (the first of a Poco). In addition, the 4,500 mAh battery now charges faster, 14 minutes faster, according to official numbers (0-100% in 38 minutes with the 67 W charger supplied).
The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen is almost the same: FHD + resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness of 1,300 nights and HDR10 + support. This year, however, it also features Dolby Vision.
Key features of the Poco F4
With that covered, the Snapdragon 870 chip set is the same: a chip set that debuted in January 2021. The memory settings are mostly the same, except for the addition of a 12 GB RAM option ( excess, perhaps?). Little could have recovered the 3.5mm jack as it did with the X4 GT, but it didn’t.
The Poco F4 will start at € 350 / .000 24,000 for a 6/128 GB drive. This is again an advance offer for the period from June 27 to July 7. After that, the base model will go up to € 400 / .000 28,000. And yes, the F4 will also be available in India (launch on Flipkart).
Prices of Poco F4 early bird
Let’s make a quick comparison. The official store no longer offers discounts on the Poco F3, but you can buy it and find it for less than € 400. The F3 isn’t worth it unless it’s noticeably cheaper than the F4, as the newer model starts with an Android version in advance.
The Xiaomi 12X is € 500 at Mi.com and offers a more compact design (6.28 “120 Hz AMOLED display), the Snapdragon 870 itself and a better main camera: 50MP 1 / 1.56” with OIS. In addition, the 4,500 mAh battery is charged at 67 W (0-100% in 39 minutes).

The Realme GT Neo 3T is € 430 and has a larger 6.62 ”(120 Hz AMOLED) screen, plus the Snapdragon 870 itself. However, the camera setup is less impressive 64MP 1/2 main camera ”But without OIS). However, it has a larger battery of 5,000 mAh with 80 W charge.
The Motorola Edge 20 Pro has a 6.7 “144 Hz AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 870. It provides much better camera settings: 108MP (1 / 1.52”) main, 8MP 5x periscope (with OIS) and 16MP ultra wide . However, the 4,500 mAh battery with 30 W charge is not particularly impressive. However, with some shopping around you can find it for € 400-500.
The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G costs 26 26,500 / € 420 for a 6/128 GB drive (or less if you don’t go through Samsung.com). It is powered by a set of Dimensity 900 chips and has a 6.7 “AMOLED screen of 120 Hz. The main camera has no OIS, but has a 108MP sensor. As for the battery, it is large and slow: 5,000 mAh, 25 W.
