UPDATE: A 39-year-old man has been charged in connection with a violent attack in Northbridge where he allegedly slashed another man’s neck with a pair of scissors.
Perth detectives swooped on the alleged attacker overnight following a manhunt launched following the attack by Dylan Pownall at around 11.45pm on Friday.
The accused, from Noranda, is due to appear at Northbridge Magistrates’ Court on Sunday charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful wounding of another common assault – in relation to a second alleged victim, of 23 years old- and possess cannabis.

Mr Pownall, 29, was out for drinks with friends when he was allegedly hit with a bladed weapon near the intersection of William and Roe streets at 11.45pm on Friday.
Josh, who was among the five friends, told The West Australian the attacker was “trying to make a scene” and disturbing the group.
He then allegedly verbally abused a woman in the group and became aggressive.

“We were trying to get him to move … we told him to go away and he threatened to cut us off,” Josh said.
“That’s when he took out (the scissors). Everything happened very quickly.”

A few seconds later, a police car pulled up at the scene.
St John Ambulance took Mr Pownall to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent surgery.
He was released from the hospital on Saturday afternoon.
